5 arrested in Lucknow after a brief encounter with police

Lucknow: Lucknow police today arrested five dreaded criminals after a brief encounter in Ghazipur police station area of the Uttar Pradesh capital. During the encounter, two criminals sustained severe bullet injuries and they have been rushed to the Trauma center here. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Kumar said that on an information, police chased a car near Kukrial Bandh.

The criminals were reportedly on way to kidnap a trader in the area. In the encounter, two criminals, identified as Rehan and Anwar, received bullet injuries. However, rest of the three Sadiq, Tauhid and Vikas Dubey have been arrested. The SSP said that all the criminals were from Farrukhabad and police seized two pistols, 3 country-made pistols and injections to make people unconscious. Mr Kumar also said that several cases were pending against the accused. (UNI)
