Action against 800 employees & officials for indulging in corruption in UP

Lucknow:Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh going stern on its policy of zero tolerance towards corruption in the government departments have taken action against around 800 state government officials and employees during its around three and a half year tenure.
Recently, the UP government have suspended two IPS officers, SSP of Prayagraj Abhishek Dikshit and SP of Mahoba Manilal Patidar for their involvement in corruption.
Two Panchayati raj officials of Sultanpur and Ghazipur were also suspended after they were found purchasing Corona equipment pulse oximeter and infrared thermometers on higher prices. These two officers are Krishna Kumar Singh, District Panchayati Raj officer Sultanpur and Anil Kumar Singh, District Panchayati Raj Officer, Ghazipur.
According to official sources here on Thursday the government has taken action against more than 775 state officials and employees so far.
In the action, the government even did not spared the retired officials and even their pension and retirement benefits were stopped, when they were found guilty in corruption.
Among the actions were, force-ably retirement of 325 officers and employees while over 450 were suspended and demoted from their posts.
However, around 50 state employees have been dismissed from services for their involvement in corruption and other irregularities. Among the action taken, 7 Provincial Police Services (PPS) officers were also forced to retire from service.
Sources said that among the action taken against the officials and employees, the highest were from the state power department where 169 identified and taken task off, followed by 51 in Home department,37 in Transport, 36 in Revenue, 26 in primary education, 25 in Panchayatiraj, 18 in PWD, 16 in Labour, 16 in Institutional finance, 16 in commercial taxes, 16 in entertainment taxes, 15 in rural development and 11 in forest department.
Besides this, government has given permission of starting criminal cases against several officers.(UNI)
