Nandyal (Andhra Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a eight-year-old girl was gangraped by three minor boys, who later killed her at Muchhumari village in Pagidyala mandal in this district.
Police said that the minor girl went missing on Sunday. The family members and the neighbours searched for the girl but could not trace her. The parents lodged a complaint with the Muchhumari police station on Monday.
The police pressed sniffer dogs into service to collect clues. The police got information that the three minor boys were seen taking the girl to the outskirts.
The police held three minor boys in connection with the disappearance of the minor girl. Police said that when the girl was playing with other girls at the park in the village, the three accused minor boys, who were acquainted with the deceased girl, took her to a secluded place on the outskirts and gang-raped her.
Later, fearing that she would reveal their names, the minor boys killed the girl by pushing her into an irrigation canal. The three minor boys confessed to the crime, the police said.
MLA Gitta Jaya Surya consoled the parents of the deceased girl and assured them of extending all needed help.
The MLA, who was shocked with the horrendous incident, directed the police officials to ensure that perpetrators were punished by the court.
