An auto driver was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend over a monetary transaction of just Rs 2,000 in City Nagar of Basti district in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) OP Singh said that Raj Kumar (40), a resident of Barhni village under Nagar police station area, had a dispute with his friend Badal over transaction of Rs 2,000. "On Friday night, Raj Kumar and Badal went to a brick kiln, where the former was attacked with a knife by his friend," he said.
Singh said that Raj Kumar was taken to the hospital for treatment by local people and family members, but his condition deteriorated and he died. "Police reached the spot after getting information about the incident and a case of murder has been registered against Badal on the complaint of the family members," the ASP said.
He said that the police has arrested the accused Badal and further legal action was being taken.(UNI)
