24 Bangladeshi citizens arrested in Tripura links with ISI

Agartala: After a series of interrogation by central intelligence agencies and National Investigation Agency (NIA) of 24 Bangladeshi nationals arrested last week from Agartala on their way to Bangladesh without valid documents and passport, police ascertain their like with ISI network based in Kashmir. According to report, a local court here sent them again to judicial custody for another 10 days yesterday and allowed intelligence officials to interrogate them.

The police has also made their medical test done before sent them to jail. The intelligence source here claimed that three of 24 Bangladeshis were found to link with the agents of ISI network operating in Kashmir. During investigation it was found that they had record of chatting with ISI collaborators and call history. But nothing more details about them have not yet been ascertained.

Sources said that they studied in Madrassa of Uttar Pradesh and they were suspected to be trapped by ISI collaborators to involve them in anti-Indian activities. However, police could not confirm yet whether they have joined in ISI network. Two special teams of NIA had interrogated the Bangladeshi youths arrested with fake Adhar cards produced from Uttar Pradesh.

The youths after entering India illegally through West Bengal border joined in a Madrassa of Uttar Pradesh. The documents and identity cards of Madrassa of different states, along with mobile phones and Indian currencies, were recovered from them. During interrogation, they revealed that the cards were morphed at a shop in Deoband area of Uttar Pradesh.

The arrested youths had link with people from other states, the officials suspected. Acting on a tip-off, MTF personnel raided Agartala railway station on May 11 last and arrested 24 Bangladeshis, who reached here on the weekly Tripura Sundari Express that originates from Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi.
