According to Arjun Singh, the attack took place at his residence at Jagaddal in North 24 Parganas. Singh alleged that the Trinamool Congress had been conspiring to kill him for a long time.
On the other hand, West Bengal Governor Jagdish Dhankar visited the violence-hit Cooch Behar. He stated that the protection of the Constitution is his prime responsibility.
