Thrissur: Cheruthurthy police arrested a 55- year-old man hailing from Tamilnadu, in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, after inserting a wooden stick into her private parts at Cheruthurthy in the district, on Tuesday.
Police arrested the accused Thamizharasu of Kallakuruchi in Tamilnadu, in this connection.
Police said the body of Selvi was found in the early hours of July 8 at the waiting shed near the Bharathapuzha bridge. Police sent the body to Thrissur Medical College for postmortem.
Police arrested Selvi's friend, a rag picker, who had been living along with Selvi for the last five years.
Thamizharasu confessed to the crime. He killed Selvi following an altercation and then dumped the body in a nearby waiting shed, which was about 200 metres away from the Cheruthurthy police station.
