CBI summon Lalu, Tejashwi for questioning in Railways corruption case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to appear before it for questioning in connection with a case related to alleged irregularities in tender process of two hotels of Railways. "CBI summoned Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav to come to CBI headquarters on September 11 and 12 in connection with corruption case of Railways," sources here said today.
 

On July 5, the probe agency had registered a case against Lalu Prasad Yadav, wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav, Sarala Gupta (wife of Prem Chand Gupta, RJD leader), Vijay and Vinay Kocchar (both directors of Sujata Hotels Private Ltd, Delight Marketing Company Pvt Ltd, Lara Projects LLP) and PK Goel (former Managing Director of IRCTC) under section 120-B, r/w 420 IPC and Section 13 (2), r/w Section 13 (1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act after a preliminary inquiry was conducted on a complaint regarding alleged irregularities in the tender process. The CBI had also raided at 12 locations in Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi and Gurugram in connection the case. (UNI)
