New Delhi:On the alleged paper leak in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that a fair exam should be conducted for the students preparing for the test. He put up his statement on Twitter saying that nations owes the students “a fair exam”

“JEE Exam has been breached. Students appearing for such competitive exams prepare very hard, battling difficulties of various kinds. We, as a nation, owe them a fair exam. GOI is better at providing cover-ups,” Gandhi’s tweet read.

Meanwhile, Congress demanded on Saturday a probe into the matter under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court Judge asserting that the issue is related to the future of the country.

'As per the primary investigation by CBI, it was found the question paper of the applicants was accessed remotely from a chosen examination centre in Haryana as the entire examination is Computer Based Test (CBT), ' the Congress said.

Further, it is also alleged that the private institute was conducting these false practices through an examination centre in Sonipat, the Congress said.

'Based on reports, the company and its staff members or associates posted at the examination centres were allegedly manipulating the online examination of JEE (MAINS) 2021 and were helping students get admissions in the top engineering colleges by falsely writing exams for them,' Congress leaders-Prof Gourav Vallabh, Ms Alka Lamba and Neeraj Kundan said in a joint statement.

'Is it not the responsibility of the government that every student out of 22 Lakh candidates registered for JEE Main (2021) to get a fair chance ultimately their future is at stake,' the party said.

'We demand an inquiry of the entire fraud under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court Judge as this is an issue related to the future of our country,' the party added.

JEE Main 2021 paper has run into trouble over reports alleging cheating scam in a private engineering college. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Affinity Education Pvt Ltd and its directors for the alleged irregularities. The institute has been booked for the alleged anomalies found in conducting the exam Cases against private persons and other unknown persons have also been filed.
