Owaisi claims Cong offered Rs 25 lakh to skip campaign in Muslim majority areas

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has claimed that the Congress had offered him Rs 25 lakh for not  to campaign in Muslim population areas in Nirmal Assembly segment of Adilabad district for the December 7 Assembly Election in Telangana.
     
Mr Owaisi's  statement created sensational among the political circles mainly the Congress leaders.  The Hyderabad MP, made the sensation statement while addressing a public meeting at Milad Gound Jalal Bagh in Sangareddy constituency of Medak district on Sunday last.
       
During the meeting, the AIMIM President claimed that  the Congress had  asked him not to participate in poll campaign in muslim majority areas in Nirmal assembly segment and even offered him a bribe of Rs 25 lakh to abstain from campaigning.
       
He termed the grand alliance of Congress-TDP and others  as 2018 'East India Company'.Mr  Owaisi said the Congress party tried to buy me by offering Rs 25 lakh for not taking up the campaign in  Nirmal Assembly constituency."I have the recording in my mobile about the offer  of Rs 25 lakh made  by the Congress,'' he added.  
        
Mr Asaduddin's brother Akbaruddin Owaisi filed his nomination for the Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency where he will be contesting the election for the fifth time.(UNI)
