Rift in Kamalnath-Scindhia out in open, MP congress trying to save govt

New Delhi: Amid mounting crisis after the rebellion of senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and 17 Congress MLAs, loyal to him, have flown to Bengaluru, the Congress is seeking all the options to save Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh.
According to party sources, the top leadership of the Congress have conveyed that it is ready to accept the former Guna MPs demands including the post of PCC chief in Madhya Pradesh and Rajya Sabha seat.
 
Mr Scindia, however, did not respond to Congress high command and some sources said he is 'untraceble'. 
 
The fresh crisis have started when 18 MLAs, including 6 Ministers have flown to BJP-ruling Karnataka just a day after the Kamal Nath has averted the alleged 'poaching' of MLAs by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
 
Mr Scindia, who lost Guna in 2019 election, was unsatisfied because he didn't consider for the Chief Minister post after the 2019 assembly election, in which Congress got a narrow majority and appointed senior leader Kamal Nath as Cheif Minister, the party sources said.
 
The grand old party had also appointed Mr Nath as state PCC chief which irked the erstwhile Gwalior scion.
 
Meanwhile, a section of media is reporting that Mr Scindia is in touch with the top leadership of the BJP and the latter has offered a Cabinet position in Central Ministry and Rajya Sabha seat.
It is learned that Mr Scindia is also in Delhi and having hectic negotiations, amid Mr Nath has called an urgent meeting of his cabinet in Bhopal.Mr Nath had a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the morning over the crisis and he rushed back to Bhopal. (UNI)
