A shocking incident unfolded in Mumbai on Thursday when several children were reportedly held hostage in broad daylight. The incident took place at RA Studio in Powai, where acting classes are conducted on the first floor.
According to reports, around 100 children had gathered at the studio for an acting audition. During the session, a man named Rohit, who works at the studio and also runs a YouTube channel, allegedly locked around 20 children inside a room. Police later rescued all the children safely.
Officials said Rohit had been conducting auditions at the studio for the past four to five days. On the day of the incident, he allowed about 80 children to leave after their turn but kept the remaining ones locked inside. When some of the trapped children were seen peering out of the windows, bystanders grew suspicious and immediately alerted the police.
Eventually, all the children were brought out safely, and the accused Rohit was taken into custody. Police sources said that Rohit is believed to be mentally unstable, and further investigation is underway.
