Coronavirus: Second Air India plane evacuates 323 Indians from China

New Delhi: Amidst deadly coronavirus outbreak, the second Air India flight carrying 323 stranded Indian nationals from China's virus-hit Wuhan city landed at New Delhi on Sunday morning.

India airlifted 323 Indians today from Wuhan as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the deadly coronavirus a global health emergency.

The virus has killed over 300 people and infected over 9,000 in China while two people from Kerala have tested positive for the virus in India.

The second Air India special flight departed at 0310 hrs (IST) from Wuhan and landed at New Delhi airport around 0945 hrs.

Seven Maldives citizens were also evacuated on the same plane. “Deep gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and EM Dr S Jaishankar. Special thanks to Ambassadors Vikram Misri and Sunjay Sudhir and their teams,” Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahi tweeted. (UNI)
