Cyclone Tauktae: Maha Cong, NCP demands action against ONGC officials for Barge tragedy

Aurangabad/Mumbai: NCP and Congress on Thursday respectively demanded strict action against those who were responsible for endangering lives of ONGC workers during the cyclonic storm Tauktae.
NCP national spokesperson stated that the ONGC ignored warning of Cyclone Tauktae and endangered the lives of 700 workers.
A case of culpable homicide has been registered against ONGC, which has claimed the lives of 37 workers.
He accused that ONGC ignored the threat of a cyclone when the government and concerned agencies issued an alert. Total 700 workers' lives were endangered. One of the barges sank, killing 37 workers and leaving 40 missing.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has appointed an inquiry committee after the revelation on Wednesday. Nothing will happen with this inquiry committee and demanded immediate suspension of those responsible, he added.
While MPCC spokesperson Sachin Sawant tweeted that action must be taken against all those responsible for endangering lives of workers. Modi government's reckless handling corona has already caused lakhs of deaths and it is continuing to exhibit the same and ask when Modi Government will learn from their grave mistakes, he added.
