Delhi HC junks plea seeking modification in CBSE Class 10 marking criteria

New Delhi: The Delhi High on Wednesday refused to entertain a plea seeking all CBSE-affiliated schools be directed to publish 'the rationale document' containing the criteria for assessment of Class 10 students before the results are declared.
A vacation bench of Justices Manmohan and Navin Chawla also pulled up the petitioner--an NGO, for approaching the court at the eleventh hour, asserting the results cannot be stayed at this stage.
The court lashed out at the NGO, saying it should not behave like a commercial litigant, and termed its act in the last moment a "publicity stunt."
However, the court gave the NGO the liberty to file an application for an early hearing of the PIL seeking modification of the policy before the roster bench.
In its plea, the NGO 'Justice For All' has sought to modify the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) policy for the tabulation of marks of class 10 board exams 2021 based on the internal assessment conducted by the schools. (UNI)
