Ex Congress MLAs arrive in Goa, swearing in likely tomorrow

Panaji: The ten Congress MLAs who formally joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of BJP National President J P Nadda arrived in Goa on Friday.Speaking to reporters after landing at Goa International Airport, State Assembly Deputy Speaker Mihael Lobo said whatever decision was to be taken would be taken by Chief Minister and swearing-in ceremony of new ministers would take place on Saturday.
Mr Lobo said the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant had taken a very good decision in the interest of the state and he should not be taken for granted.According to Mr Lobo, who represents Calangute constituency in the state assembly, the Chief Minister was not happy with functioning of certain ministers.
 
Meanwhile, former Leader of Opposition Chandrakant 'Babu' Kavlekar said he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
 
However, he refused to comment upon portfolios to be given to the newly inducted MLAs some of whom are likely to be sworn-in as ministers in the Pramod Sawant-led government.The ten MLAs of Congress had quit the party on Wednesday and merged their faction into BJP on Wednesday.(UNI)
