New Delhi: Amid face-off between Opposition and the ruling party members over Home Minister Amit Shah's Ambedkar remark, BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland Phangnon Konyak on Thursday accused Rahul Gandhi of misbehaviour claiming that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha came in very close proximity of her and she felt uncomfortable while she was making a peaceful protest at the stairs below Makar Dwar.

"Today while protesting, it was a peaceful protest. I was standing outside just below the stairs of the Makar dwar. Something happened to me that I really feel disheartened. Leader of Opposition from Lok Sabha Shri Rahul Gandhi ji came in very close proximity of me and I really feel uncomfortable and he started shouting at me which I felt very unbecoming of a Leader of Opposition," the BJP MP said in the Rajya Sabha after the Upper House met at 2 PM.

"His action today was really bad. and I feel disheartened. No lady member, let alone me, should be made to feel like this. Therefore, I seek your protection on this matter," she said appealing to the Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Deputy leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior Congress party leader Pramod Tiwai however rejected the charge and said that Rahul Gandhi actually went and enquired about the condition of the BJP member who fell down during the protest in Parliament premise.

Tiwari claimed that BJP members obstructed Opposition leaders from entering into the Parliament and made one of its women MPs to level scuffle charges against Rahul Gandhi.

"For the first time, ruling party members today staged demonstration at Makar Dwar (of Parliament). ....They forcefully pushed a 84-year-old Dalit leader (Mallikarjun Kharge). We stopped them from roughing up with women members. Now they have brought forward a woman MP to make false statement against (Rahul Gandhi)," Tiwari told reporters.

Tiwari said that in the jostling by the ruling party members Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Rajya Sabha Kharge fell down and hurt his knees.

"What they have done is akin to a terrorist attack on Parliament. Today, BJP members appeared as terrorists. They stopped us from entering the Parliament. They were not letting us in. In such a situation when a BJP member fell down then Rahul Gandhi went to enquire about her condition. The footage of this is everywhere on news channels," Tiwari said.
