Gyanvapi mosque row: Gujarat AIMIM leader arrested for derogatory remarks on Shivling

Ahmedabad/ New Delhi: The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Cell arrested AIMIM leader Danish Qureshi for posting derogatory remarks on social media on reported recovery of Shivling at Gyanvapi mosque.
The screenshots of Qureshi's post were widely shared on social media leading to expression of anger against the leader.
Danish Qureshi has been accused of hurting religious sentiments by questioning the Shivling in the Gyanvapi mosque and posting distasteful remarks on the same.
The complaint in the case was lodged by Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP). The VHP activists staged a protest outside Naroda Police Station demanding action against the leader who also appears in debates on TV channels.
An FIR has been lodged against Qureshi under Sections 153(A) for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, 295 A for deliberate and mischievous acts intended to outrage religious feelings and section 67 of the IT Amendment act, police said. (UNI)
