Dharamshala: In a heartwarming display of humanity, Noor Mohammad and Sanjeev Ali, residents of Riyali village of Indora in Kangra district, provided the starving cattle with green fodder on a small island formed due to floods created by water released from Pong dam.

The animals were trapped amid rising waters and strong currents following incessant rains, making any rescue attempt nearly impossible for villagers.

Ramesh Dutt Kalia, a local resident , had informed the people about the plight of the starving cattle through his social media account.

Moved by their plight, Noor Mohammad and Sanjeev Ali braved the strong currents of flood water with the help of a boat and carried fresh fodder to the starving cattle. The compassionate act and determination and strong will to serve the cows won widespread appreciation from the local community.

Villagers said the helplessness in the eyes of the cattle had been evident for days, and Noor Mohammad and Sanjeev Ali's gesture, rising above barriers of religion, was a true service to humanity. Their courageous step has become a source of inspiration for the entire region.
