New Delhi:India witnessed a fresh spike of 46,232 COVID cases in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry update said here.
Nation's contagion tally has now surged to 90,50,598 after the latest spike in cases.Talking of the deaths due to the pandemic, 564 more lives were lost in the past 24 hours, wherein 118 were from the National Capital pushing the country's death toll to 1,32,726 till date.
Active case load on the nation has witnessed a dip by 4,047 cases in the past 24 hours , and , presently the country houses 4,39,747 active cases.
Meanwhile, there were 49,715 patients who were cured during the same period and the total recoveries have now reached 84,78,124, the government data update added.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 13,06,57,808 COVID tests have been conducted till date.
In percentage , presently active cases of the contagion are 4.86 per cent , discharged 93.67 per cent and deaths 1.47 per cent.
On Friday, Lieutenant Governor Delhi Anil Baijal approved government's proposal of increasing the COVID guidelines violations fine from Rs 500 to Rs 2000, as part of strict actions against violators as cases across the capital were on a rapid rise.(UNI)
