India defeat West Indies by 22 runs to seal series 2-0

Florida:India won the series as they defeated West Indies by 22 runs via DLS method  in the second T20 match of a three-match T20 international series at the Central Broward Stadium here on Sunday.
While chasing a target, the men in blue bowlers, didn't let Caribbean to settle down on the crease and dismissed both their openers Sunil Narine (4) and Evin Lewis for duck on after another.
 
Nicholas Pooran, however, tried to get some runs for his team with Rovman Powell and the duo added 76 runs for the third wicket. But they too couldn't take it further as Pooran was caught by Manish Pandey over Krunal Pandya in 13.2 over. Pooran scored 19 off 34 balls. He left West Indies on a score of 84/3.
 
In the same over, West Indies suffered fourth loss when Pandya took his second wicket as he dismissed Powell on a score of 54 runs off 34 balls. His innings included 6 fours and 2 sixes. With Powell dismissal, Caribbean hope of winning the match came to an end.
 
The West Indies had scored 98 runs for four wickets in 15.3 overs and needed 70 runs from 27 balls when the game stopped due to bad weather. The DLS?par score was 120 but West Indies fell well short of the score. For India, Pandya took two wickets for 23 runs, while Sundar took one wicket for 12 runs and Bhuvneshwar took one wicket for seven runs.
 
Earlier, Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant half century while Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja provided the late fireworks as India posted 167/5 in the second T20I?encounter. Rohit scored 67 but two wickets each for Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell stopped the flow of runs for the time being. However, Jadeja and Pandya added 20 runs in the final over to take their team to a competitive total.(UNI)
