Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in Rajouri, 3 soldiers martyred, 2 intruders killed

Jammu: Army on Sunday foiled a major infiltration bid and eliminated two intruders on the Line of Control while three soldiers also attained martyrdom and one injured in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“This afternoon at about 1345 hours, Indian Army in Sunderbani Sector on the Line of Control had a fierce encounter with heavily armed Pakistani intruders very close to the Line of Control,” Col Devendra Anand, Jammu based Defence Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence here said.
He said that the patrol party killed two intruders and recovered warlike stores including two AK-47 rifles.
“Immediate reaction from other posts effectively cordoned the area and the search and destroy operation is in progress,” he said adding, “three own soldiers attained martyrdom while fighting the intruders and one soldier suffered grevious injuries and has been air evacuated to Army Command hospital, Udhampur.”
He is reported to be stable, said the spokesman adding that the operation is in progress. (UNI)
