Jeevan Raksha of RPF-SCR saves 52 lives in last year

Hyderabad: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, South Central Railway saved 52 (23 females & 29 males) lives during the Year- 2022 as a part of “ Mission Jeevan Rakshak”.
RPF jawans are always in the forefront and at times even risking their own lives to safeguard not only the railway property, but the lives of passengers with the help of on-duty railway staff.
RPF jawans face diverse security challenges such as crime against passengers and railway property, extremist violence, obstruction to train movement, rescuing missing children and seizing narcotics in trains and railway premises, retrieving passengers’ luggage. Amidst all, they keep a close watch on the safety of passengers, a statement here said on Saturday.
The alert RPF, in most of the cases saved the lives of passengers who were negligent or faced danger while boarding or alighting running trains. Some were also saved while they were attempting suicide.
RPF rescued 46 children (34 boys, 12 girls) from the clutches of the traffickers by arresting eight traffickers un “Operation Aaht” during the year 2022.
RPF identified 48 persons through CCTV footage and arrested them with the recovery of stolen property worth Rs. 97,07,130 during the same period.
RPF personnel provided help in securing left over passenger belongings and handed over them to rightful owners. RPF retrieved more than 2060 belongings of passengers valued more than 4.99 crores during the year- 2022.
RPF also arrested 78 persons under “Operation Narcos” and seized Narcotic Products worth Rs 8.26 crore during the same period.
During the year 2022, 448 people were apprehended under “Operation Yatri Suraksha and recovered stolen property worth Rs 4.43 crore.(UNI)
