Shops and bike were set ablaze in a violent clash between two groups at Ghorthambha in Giridih district of Jharkhand on the night of March 14, police sources said on Saturday.A bike was set on fire during a chaotic incident involving several shops, according to police.Sources said that the situation is completely under control now, but tension prevails in the area.
CDPO Rajendra Prasad arrived at the incident site after receiving information and attempted to pacify the affected individuals.Following the violence, a large contingent of police forces was deployed to bring the situation under control.
Later, Giridih SP Dr Vimal Kumar also reached the spot and controlled the situation. The fire brigade was also called to extinguish the fire in shops.The situation became normal late at night.Police are investigating to find out the reasons for the incident.Additionally, some unknown individuals attempted to disrupt the law and order during Holi, but the situation has now been completely under control.(UNI)
