New Delhi: The Oil companies have hiked the price of subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs eight and non-subsidised by Rs 74, which will be applicable from today. According to Indian Oil, a subsidised cylinder in the national capital will now cost Rs 487.18, which was earlier available at Rs 479.77, effecting a hike of 14 per cent. Every household is entitled to 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg each at subsidised rate in a year.

The Government had earlier asked the oil companies to increase cylinder prices by Rs two every month, to end the subsidy. It later increased the amount to Rs four per month. The cooking gas witnessed the highest increase of Rs 32 in July this year, when the government implemented the GST. According to revised rates, the non-subsidised cylinder will be available to customers at Rs 597.5, which earlier stood at Rs 524. (UNI)
