Mehbooba, Omar shocked over attack on J&K students in Haryana

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and working president of the main opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah have expressed shock over the attack on Kashmiri students in Mohindargarh, Haryana.A spokesperson for J&K police said,'With regard to physical assault on some students of the state in Mohindergarh, Haryana on Friday, police has taken cognisance and one of our officers is in touch with the students.'
The spokesperson said FIR NO 53 dated 02/02/18 u/s 148/149/341/323 IPC has been lodged in Police station Mohindergarh.The students in a tweet said, “Sir v the student of Central University of haryana and today we r gone for the jumma nimaz out side the campus n some of the people are starting thrashing us @OmarAbdullah @listenshahid @chzulfkarali @MehboobaMufti @HMOIndia @narendramodi @jkedumin @spvaid @JmuKmrPolice”.Taking to micro-blogging site twitter Ms Mehbooba said, 'Shocked & disturbed to hear reports of Kashmiri students being assaulted in Mahendargarh, Haryana. I urge the authorities to investigate & take strict action.'
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, 'This is terrible & goes against the spirit of what @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji said from the ramparts of the Red Fort. I hope the authorities in Haryana act quickly against this violence.'(UNI)
