Matheen, a resident of Shimoga in Karnataka, is wanted in the case under sections153A, 121A, 120B, 122, 123, 124A and 125 of IPC and sections 13, 18 and 20 of UA(P) Act.
This case relates to ISIS- inspired terror group formed by accused Mehboob Pasha, along with his aide Khaja Moideen alias Jalal and his associates who were involved in the murder of Hindu leader in Tamil Nadu.
''Accused Mehboob Pasha conducted several meetings in 2019 at his residence in Guruppanapalya, Bengaluru to hatch the conspiracy, by radicalising and recruiting other co-accused to carry out terror activities and join ISIS in Afghanistan and Syria,'' the federal terror probe agency said.
Twelve accused namely Mehaboob Pasha, Imran alias Imran Khan, Mohammed Haneef Khan, Mohammed Mansoor Ali Khan, Saleem Khan alias Kolar Saleem, Hussain Sharieff, Ejaz Pasha alias Azaz Pasha, Zabiulla, Syed Azmathulla, Syed Fasiur Rehman, Mohammed Zaid and Sadiq Basha have been arrested so far.
Matheen is a friend of arrested accused Saleem and Zaid, through whom he contacted Pasha of Al-Hind Trust, Bangaluru and was also associated with his online foreign handler, the probe agency said.(UNI)
