NIA detains 4 in western UP in connection with ISIS module

Amroha/ Hapur: National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths conducted raids in western Uttar  Pradesh during which three youths were detained for 'anti-national' activities in Hapur while a cleric was being interrogated in Meerut.
The raids started on late Wednesday night in Hapur, Amroha, Meerut and Bulandshahr after reported intelligence input that some 'anti-national' forces were planning to carry out a strike in the national capital or  National Capital Region during Republic day functions.
 
Sources said here on Thursday that three youths were taken in custody from Badrakha and Athsaini villages under Garh police station area in Hapur. This was the third raid of the NIA team in these villages.A separate NIA team was in Naogawa area in Amroha district in search of some suspect.
 
Another report from Meerut said that the NIA team raided the house of a cleric at Radhana village under Kithore police station area. The team has seized several secret documents from the house of the cleric.
 
Sources said several incriminating documents were seized during the raid and these people, mostly youths, are working as a sleeper cell for terror modules.
 
Earlier, the NIA had arrested four suspected terrorists, including their chief Mufti Husain of the new terror module  Harkat-ul-harb-e-Islam. These four terrorists are presently under police custody and the raids on Wednesday night are closely linked to the disclosure by the arrested terrorists. (UNI)
