The raids started on late Wednesday night in Hapur, Amroha, Meerut and Bulandshahr after reported intelligence input that some 'anti-national' forces were planning to carry out a strike in the national capital or National Capital Region during Republic day functions.
Sources said several incriminating documents were seized during the raid and these people, mostly youths, are working as a sleeper cell for terror modules.
Earlier, the NIA had arrested four suspected terrorists, including their chief Mufti Husain of the new terror module Harkat-ul-harb-e-Islam. These four terrorists are presently under police custody and the raids on Wednesday night are closely linked to the disclosure by the arrested terrorists. (UNI)
