New Delhi: After a month-long spell of heat wave, residents of Delhi might get some relief, as the maximum temperature is likely to settle at around 39 degrees, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
On Monday the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.8 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal.
As per the predictions of the weather agency, the sky will remain cloudy during day time. According to the agency, the city's minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal on Tuesday morning.
“Next two day the weather conditions will remain the same in Delhi as the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 40 degrees Celsius,” said the IMD.
An official from the weather department said, "A western disturbance affecting northwest India has pulled the temperatures down by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the capital. Another western disturbance is predicted on May 4 and 5. No heatwave is likely in the city for at least two to three days."
“Abatement of Heat wave conditions over most parts of the country. Thunderstorm/gusty winds are very likely over Northwest India till 04th may; over East India & south Peninsular India till 06th May and over Northeast India till 03rd May, 2022” Tweeted IMD. (UNI)
