Rahul holds meeting with Gujrat MLAs, ends up getting trolled

New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today met party leaders and MLAs from Gujarat and discussed with them party's strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in the state. As many as 43 Congress MLAs from Gujarat met the Congress vice -president .
Taking to Twitter, the Congress vice-president said he had a good meeting with the party MLAs from Gujarat. 'Had a good meeting with Congress MLAs and leaders from Gujarat today,' Mr Gandhi tweeted. The meeting of the MLAs comes close on the heels of the win of party leader and political secretary of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel in the Rajya Sabha polls from Gujarat amid the dissensions in the Gujarat Congress and cross voting by some MLAs.
Sources said during the meeting, the Congress vice-president discussed with the party leaders and MLAs the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat. They said that he lauded the MLAs for taking a united stand during the Rajya Sabha elections. The threat of defections by party MLAs from the state had led it to transport 44 MLAs of the party to Bengaluru before the Rajya Sabha elections. Assembly polls in the state are scheduled to be held by year end.
