New Delhi: Launching sharp attack on the RSS, Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said that they wanted to change the Constitution. Speaking at Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav's ‘Sanjhi Virasat Bachao’ event , Rahul also charged the RSS of filling every institution in the country with its own people. 'The RSS is aware that its ideology cannot win elections in the country.
Therefore, it is attempting to fill every institution with its own people,' Rahul said at the event, also attended by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel.
Mr Sitaram Yechury of the CPI(M), D Raja of the CPI and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babu Lal Marandi also attended the meeting. Accusing the RSS of trying to impose its ideology on the people of the country, Rahul said,'the RSS says that this is our country, while telling people with differing ideologies that they do not belong to the Nation." They beat up Dalits in Gujarat and told them that this country belonged to us and they (Dalits) did not belong to it," Rahul added. 'There are two ways of looking at the country -- one is that this country belongs to me while the other is that I belong to the nation. This is the difference between us and the RSS,' the Congress Vice-president said. (UNI)
