A heartwarming yet shocking incident from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has caught everyone’s attention. A young boy went to a jewelry shop to sell his sister’s engagement ring — all because he wanted to buy Maggi noodles.
According to reports, the child walked into jeweler Pushpendra Jaiswal’s shop in Shastri Nagar Sarafa Market and offered to sell a gold ring. The shopkeeper, sensing something was off, carefully questioned the boy about his family and address. Finding the situation suspicious, he called the child’s mother to the shop.
Mother’s Emotional Reaction
When the boy’s mother arrived, she was shocked to see the ring — it was her daughter’s engagement ring. Fighting back tears, she explained that her daughter was soon to be married and the ring was given during the engagement ceremony. She feared that if it had been sold, it could have created a serious misunderstanding and damaged the family’s reputation.
The boy, however, innocently confessed that he simply wanted to eat Maggi but his mother didn’t give money, so he decided to sell the ring to buy some. Hearing this, the mother was moved to tears, and the shopkeeper returned the ring immediately.
Shopkeeper Praised for His Vigilance
Jeweler Pushpendra Jaiswal said, “When the boy told me he wanted money for Maggi, I realized something was wrong. That’s why I called his family.” He added that in their market, no one buys valuables from children and that such cases are always verified first.
