Addressing the party workers after the inauguration of the new AICC headquarters here, Gandhi said, "Mohan Bhagwat has the audacity to inform the nation every 2-3 days what he thinks about the independence movement, what he thinks about the Constitution. In fact, what he said yesterday is treason because it is stating that the Constitution is invalid and the fight against the British was invalid."
He said, "To say that India did not get independence in 1947 is an insult to every single Indian, and it's about time we stop listening to such nonsense that these people think they can just keep parroting out and shouting and screaming."
"The fruit of the freedom movement was our constitution, which was implicitly criticised yesterday by Mohan Bhagwat when he said that the constitution was not the symbol of our freedom. This party has always stood for a particular set of values, and we can see those values reflected in this building," Rahul said.
Rahul said that the Congress party had worked with the people of the country, and it has built the success of the country on the foundation of the Constitution.
Stating that the new building is not an ordinary one, Rahul said, "It has emerged from the soil of our country, and it is a result of the hard work and sacrifice of millions of people."
