Kangra: In a first-of-its-kind, the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh has sought the support of the Muslims, to get the Ram temple constructed at the birth place of Lord Rama, without any violence.Addressing a press conference at the RSS office here on Wednesday, its national executive member Indresh Kumar said they were fighting for Ram Temple issue on two fronts- first, a legal battle and secondly, to have amicable settlement between the Hindus and the Muslims outside court. He said 40 Muslim Sammelans were held in the country to bring the truth about the Ram Janam Bhoomi before the members of the minority community and pave a congenial and peaceful path for the construction of Ram temple at Ayodya.
He said in this connection, Muslims from different parts of Kangra district on Wednesday gathered at RSS office here and they were explained the factual position of Ram Janam Bhoomi and its historical backdrop. They were told that there was no connection of Babar with the issue. The Supreme Court was hearing the case between Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas versus the controversial, illegal and disputed land and there was no name of Babri Masjid figuring in it, Mr Kumar noted.
The RSS leader told them that there were thousands of Ram temples in the world, but the Ram temple at the birth place of Lord Rama holds significance. He told the members of the minority community that there were thousands of Mosques in the world, but the Mosque at Mecca has its own importance. So to construct Ram temple at Ayodhya, has different dimension.
Efforts were on to have a big Mosque away from the Ram temple premises, where Muslims from all sects could pray to God. He said that attempts were made to construct the Ram Temple for 74 times, but every time, it resulted in violence. He, however, added that this time, a path is being paved for the construction of Ram temple without violence, and with the consensus of the members of Muslim community.
Mr Kumar evaded the question on whether the Ram temple will be constructed before the 2019 Lok Saba polls. When asked why BJP was supporting Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who calls the Indian Army jawans as black sheep and allegedly supports the people of militant-infested Kashmir valley, the RSS leader said that both the Congress and the National Conference were put to test in the state for decades together, but now she was being tried for the national integration and peace.Mr Kumar held a meeting with the Muslims, who had arrived here from different parts of the district.(UNI)
