Sasikala gets 5-day conditional parole from Jail authorities

Bengaluru: AIADMK leader V K Sasikala Natarajan, a close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister late J Jayalalithaa jailed for four years in the central prison at Parappana Agrahara here in disproportionate case, was today granted a 5-day parole by the Jail authorities to meet her ailing husband in a Chennai hospital. Ms Sasikala, who was convicted had earlier applied for a 15-day parole but it was rejected by the Jailor on technical grounds.
Furnishing necessary details of hospital documents and other documents, she had again she approached the jail authorities. Today the authorities granted a conditional bail for five days and she would leave for Chennai once she was released from the jail, official sources said. Her nephew TTV Dhinakaran arrived this morning at the Bengaluru Central Prison with a group of supporters who were reported waiting for her interim release from the high security jail.
She had been jailed for nearly eight months in this jail following a Supreme Court order. The conditions set by the authorities include that Ms Sasikala should not hold any political meetings, not meet any politicians or State officials, nor indulge in criminal activities and others. However, she was given permission to stay in her relatives homes in Chennai during her payrole period and return to the jail at the end of it. Her husband Mr Natarajan underwent surgery yesterday at Chennai and is recovering in a Hospital. (UNI)
