Siddaramaiah denies recommending special facilities to Sasikala

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday clarified that he had not instructed the Jail authorities to provide special facilities to jailed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala.Talking to newsmen here, he said all that he told the then Director General (Prisons) Sathyanarayana Rao was to extend facilities to Sasikala as per the jail manuals and had not sought him to provide any special status or VIP treatment to her.
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) which is looking into the allegations of corruption against jail authorities for providing special facilities to Sasikala and her relatives now languishing in jail having convicted in disproportionate wealth case in which late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was also involved.Senior Karnataka police official D Roopa had alleged that money to the tune of Rs two Crore had changed hands to ensure royal treatment to Sasikala and her family members in the jail. She had also provided video clipping of Sasikala entering the jail with normal attire.(UNI)
