Spine-chilling! Three year old raped and killed, accused arrested

Belagavi: A 30-year-old person has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl and subsequently murdering her in Harugeri Village of Raibag taluk in this district. Police sources said here today that the accused Uddappa had allegedly committed the crime by enticing the girl with a chocolate and brought her to his residence. When the girl started shouting he allegedly killed her and buried the body near a sugar cane field.

The incident came to light when the girl's mother, when searching for her was told that Uddappa was seen carrying her. Subsequently villagers accosted him and found out about the incident. Police arrested him and officials were further investigating into the gory incident. Superintendent of Police of Belgaum Ravikanthe Gouda later told UNI that the accused has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to kidnap and rape. (UNI)
