Suspected rocket attack at Punjab Police intel headquarters in Mohali

Mohali/ New Delhi: An explosion occurred at the third floor of the building of Punjab Police Headquarters in Mohali on Monday. Primary inputs suggested it was a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attack on intelligence office which shattered the windows but did not cause much damage to the building.
Police later said that it was a minor explosion which took place at around 7:45 pm, it caused no damage and that senior officers are on the spot and investigation is being carried out.
Soon after the blast, security personnel cordoned off the area. Necessary measures were being taken including collection of forensic evidence.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is said to be in touch with top police officials.
Meanwhile, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder has tweeted saying the brazen attack on the state's police force is deeply concerning. Capt Amarinder demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ensures that the perpetrators are brought to justice at the earliest. (UNI)
