The petition has been filed under section 13 (C) and 1 (A) of Hindu Marriage Act, which has been posted for November 29 for hearing.
The elder son of RJD chief Mr Prasad had made headlines on several occasions for his stand which embarrassed the party leadership.Reports of differences between Mr Tej Pratap Yadav and his younger brother Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, leader of the opposition in Assembly, had appeared in media earlier but both of them dismissed it saying they were unitedly working to strengthen the party.Troubles in conjugal life of Tej Pratap Yadav, however, did not come in open as has been the case with several celebrity couples before filing of any petition in this connection in family court.
Family members, however, did not confirm filing of any such petition of divorce by Tej Pratap Yadav. RJD MLA Bhai Birendra, went on dubbing the report of petition filed by Tej Pratap for divorce as a well orchastrated propaganda by some elements and media to tarnish the image of RJD chief Mr Prasad and his family members. When asked about family troubles, Mr Birendra dismissed it saying there was no tension and differences in family members of RJD chief and it was just creation of media.
Mr Chandrika Rai, father-in-law of Mr Tej Pratap Yadav, did not make any comment on the development when media approached him. Despite repeated queries, Mr Rai maintained stoic silence, fuelling speculations over troubles in famous political family of Bihar.
As it is, Tej Pratap had married Ashwarya on May 12 this year in a grand gala celebration attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Governor Satya Pal Malik, Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan and several other top dignitaries from political and other arenas.
