Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman died after her hair got stuck in a cotton-processing machine in Maharashtra's Nagpur city, police said here.
The victim was identified as Kalpana Rupchand Kamdi, a resident of Purani Mangalwari, Lakadganj area, Nagpur.
According to police, the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when Kalpana was working in a cotton-processing machine at Bharat Gaddi House, located near Nawabpura Masjid in the Kotwali area—this establishment is owned by Mohammad Ejaz Sheikh and Rafiq Sheikh.
During the course of her work, Kalpana's hair got entangled in the machine. The force dragged her head inside, causing grievous injuries that led to her death before she could receive medical treatment.
The Kotwali police, responding to a statement from the shop owner, have registered the incident as an accidental death, and further investigations are currently underway.
