Patna: The Post lunch sitting of the Bihar assembly was adjourned within ten minutes till 3:30 PM as opposition members created a ruckus demanding a public apology from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his alleged insult to the National song.

As the House assembled for post-sitting, opposition members trooped into the well and started demanding an apology from Chief Minister Kumar for his alleged insult to the National song.

Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav asked the Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary to place budgetary demands on his department for the financial year 2025-26 for approval by the House.

Even as Chaudhary placed budgetary demands on the Rural Works Department for fiscal 2025-26, opposition members continued raising slogans against the government and also demanding an apology from CM Kumar.

Speaker asked opposition members to return to their seats which did not yield any result. When repeated requests from the Speaker to opposition members to maintain peace in the House to enable it to transact its scheduled business, fell on deaf ears, he adjourned the House till 3:30 PM.

Pre-lunch sitting of the House was also adjourned within ten minutes after it assembled as the opposition had created a ruckus and demanded an apology from the Chief Minister on the same issue.

A video clip of Nitish Kumar has been doing rounds on social media in which "he was spotted moving" during the national anthem at an international sports event held here on Thursday. In the viral video he was seen "laughing and talking" while the national anthem was being played. In the video, he appeared "confused", then "talked" during the national anthem with his principal secretary and retired IAS officer Deepak Kumar. When Kumar touched Deepak's arm "talking and laughing", the latter asked him to "stay still. Kumar then folds his hands while looking at someone in public".
