Uttar Pradesh: Cement pillar found on railway track in Mahoba, teenager arrested

Mahoba (UP): In yet another incident, a cement pillar was recovered from the railway track between Kabrai and Mataundh railway stations in Mahoba district here in Uttar Pradesh, after which a teenager was arrested, a police officer said here on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vandana Singh said that on Saturday night a cement pillar was recovered from the railway track near Rewara village.

"The loco pilot of the passenger train between Jhansi and Prayagraj spotted the pillar and informed the control room," she said.

She said that the Government Railway Police (GRP), along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police, reached the spot, cleared the track, and resumed the train traffic.

"During preliminary information, a 16-year-old teenager, who was grazing his cattle near the railway track, was detained," she said.

ASP said that when quizzed, the teenager admitted that he had placed the cemented pillar on the railway track while playing. She said that on the complaint of the Railway Track Inspector (RTI) Rajesh Kumar, the Kabrai police have lodged a case against the teenager under the Railway Act and BNS on charges of creating trouble by placing stones on the track.

PRO of North Central Railway, Jhansi Manoj Kumar Singh, has said that a teenager grazing cattle broke the pillar of the fencing on the side of the track and put it on the track, which was removed. He said that no train was affected by the incident.

It may be noted that a stone was recovered on the railway track in Ballia district on Saturday.
