Jaunpur (UP): A man and his two sons were attacked with a hammer and killed by unidentified assailants in the Zafarabad area of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Kaustubh said that Lalji (62), a resident of Mohammadpur Kandh village, his sons -- Guddu Kumar (32) and Yadveer (28) -- had a shop at Nevada bypass.
"On Sunday night when Lalji was at the shop with his two sons, unidentified assailants killed all three by hitting them on the head with a hammer and also opened the DVR of the CCTV camera with a key and took it away," he said.
The SP said that four mobile phones have been found at the spot. "Guddu's brother-in-law informed the police about the incident. He said that as soon as the information was received, the police force reached the spot. Eight teams have been formed to arrest the miscreants," he said.
"Prima facie, the deaths were caused by blows of a heavy object. Evidence collection and other legal proceedings are underway. Eight police teams have been formed to solve the case," the SP said.
He said the police are investigating reports that some people had old enmity with the deceased.
