Wednesday, 2 June 2021 (13:58 IST)
New Delhi:Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA Atishi today issued Delhi’s daily vaccine bulletin, wherein she stated that as of 31st May, Delhi had administered a total of 56,559 vaccine doses, out of which 36,512 were first doses and 20,047 were second doses. She also said that while beginning 2nd June, the 18-44 category will be eligible for the second dose, neither the second dose, nor the first have been available for the said category in any government facility. The Kalkaji MLA stated that while those in the 18-44 category who’ve been administered with the first dose of Covaxin will be due for their second shot this week, the Delhi government hadn’t received the requisite stock. She also stated that vaccinations for this age category are being conducted only in private hospitals, and at exorbitant rates. Atishi then said that the next installment of vaccinations will arrive on 10 June, until which, vaccinations remain closed for the youth.
Senior AAP leader and MLA Atishi said, “On 31st May, a total of 56,559 vaccine doses were administered, out of which 36,512 were first doses and 20,047 were second doses. From tomorrow onwards, the youth group will be eligible for the second dose, but the second dose or even the first dose is not available for them. As we’ve been sharing since the last 8-9 days, vaccination for the youth is not being carried out at any governmental centre. Those who got their first dose in the beginning of May, have now become eligible for the second dose. For those who were administered Covaxin, it’s time for their second dose, but Delhi is yet to receive the required amount of vaccination for the youth.”
She said, “As per the Central Government, we will get the vaccination for the youth on 10th June, which is significantly far away, especially for those youth, who wish to move out of their homes once the unlock process begins. So we hope that the Central Government listens to the voice of the youth and provides the vaccine as soon as possible.”
She also said, “Along with yesterday’s vaccination, our total vaccination has reached 54,09,352 and till now, 41,85,000 people have been administered with the first dose and 12,24,330 people have been administered both doses.”
Atishi further said, “Right now, the vaccination for the youth is being carried out only in private hospitals, and at exorbitant prices, as we have shared with everyone previously. But the vaccination drive for 45+ is still in operation. It is our appeal that if you know anyone who is above 45 and lives in Delhi, you can find a list of all the centres on our Delhi fights Corona App. There is no need for online registration for those above 45; these are walk-in centres, established all over Delhi. So all those above the age of 45 years, who haven’t gotten vaccinated, please do come forward and get vaccinated.”
Senior AAP leader and MLA Atishi said, “The vaccine stock for those above the age of 45 years is 4,43,750 doses, out of which 47,310 Covaxin doses were available this morning. We are using Covaxin doses only as of the second dose since many people were due for their second dose. We have 3,96,000 doses of Covishield available which, as per our average vaccination speed, will last for 19 days in Delhi. There are no vaccination doses available for the youth. The next installment of vaccines will come on 10th June, till then the vaccination is closed for the youth.”
