Ayodhya: Thousands of people descended upon Ayodhya for Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s ‘Dharam Sabha’ here on Sunday, which commenced with the slogan of ‘Jai Shree Ram” and saints, seers and Ram bhakts taking a vow to construct the Ram temple at any cost very soon.
The Sabha commenced with speech of VHP leaders and the saints.
At the end of the sabha, a resolution is likely to be passed to press the Centre to bring an Ordinance for the Ram temple.
VHP has claimed that over 2 lakh Ram bhakts would participate in the Sabha. It described the dharam sabha as its “last effort” to clear the hurdles for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The meeting, according to the saints and seers, has been called to discuss a strategy for the early construction of the temple.
Elaborate security has been made for the Dharam Sabha. Over 60 companies of PAC and central forces have been rushed to maintain law and order and section 144 of the CrPC has been clamped.
In a statement, VHP regional organisational secretary Bholend said here on Sunday that after his Dharam Sabha, there will be no meetings, processions and protests for Ram temple.
“There will only be temple construction now,” he announced.
The RSS and its other affiliates have also thrown in their support to make the event a show of strength so that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre can be pressurised into acting for the early construction of the temple. (UNI)
