Maharashtra MLA Yashomati Thakur appointed AICC secy for Karnataka

New Delhi: In a continuation of efforts to restructure the Congress party with emphasis on young faces, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday appointed Maharashtra MLA Yashomati Thakur as the AICC Secretary for Karnataka.
According to a release by AICC general secretgary Ashok Gehlot, 'Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Ms Yashomati Thakur, MLA, as secretary, AICC.
 
She is being attached to AICC general secretary incharge for Karnataka KC Venugopal.'
The appointment of Ms Yashomati Thakur is the continuation of efforts by the Congress president to restructure the Congress party with induction of young faces in the party organisaiton, as announced by him during his address at the AICC plenary held here last week.
 
On Friday, Rahul had appointed young leaders Rajeev Satav and former Union Minister Jitendra Singh as the AICC incharges for Gujarat and Odisha respectively. (UNI)
