“Maintain peace and calm”, urges Mamata Banerjee in video message

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said she would in all probability be on the field for electioneering in the next 2/3 days and may be restricted to a wheelchair during the campaign.

In an appeal from the SSKM Hospital bed, Ms Banerjee also urged the party workers to maintain peace and calm at this hour.

“Yes I have had pain in my leg, chest and body when the pressure came on me while I was praying on the bonnet of the car and whole pressure fell on my legs”, Ms Banerjee said.

She said she would be on the field for the campaign as she would not let go the opportunity for electioneering and adding she would be restricted on the wheel-chair during campaigning.

She also appealed to the party workers and general people at large to maintain peace and calm.

The TMC also issued a statement urging the people to remain peaceful and calm.a

“We appeal to all our workers to not let their emotions overflow,” an AITC statement said.

“We understand your concerns & we’ll keep updating about @MamataOfficial’s health. We request to maintain peace & Let us all pray for her speedy recovery”. (UNI)
