15 sent to jail in connection with Burugulikera massacre of Chaibasa

Chaibasa:A total of 15 accused have been arrested and forwarded to jail in connection with Burugulikera massacre which had taken place on January 19 this year under Gudri Police Station area of the West Singhbhum district.
All the arrested were taken to the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital for medical examination after which they were presented in the court which forwarded them to jail under judicial custody. All the arrested are residents of Burugulikera village itself.
 
Those who have been forwarded to jail included Ransi Budh (50), Sukhram Budh (50), Mansukh Budh (55), Jitendra Budh (45), Konje Budh (51), Tipur Budh (45), Jaisingh Budh (50), Budhwa Budh (50), Manav Budh (50), Budhwa Munda (28), Sursen Budh (25), Herman Budh (19), Nagu  Budh (25), Konje Lugnu (29) and Sanika Lugnu (55).
 
In a gram sabha which was held in Burugulikera village on January 19, 2020 the pathalgadi supporters led husband of former mukhiya Ransi Budh had beaten to death the 'up-mukhiya' James Budh and 6 others who were against pathalgadi. Later they were beheaded and the bodies were thrown in the jungle.
 
On January 22, all the bodies were recovered by the police. Initially police had taken into custody three accused and later after questioning the family members of the deceased and these three men, 12 more were arrested.(UNI)
