WATCH- Mumbai Police rescue 17 women hidden in secret room at Mumbai bar, 5 arrested

Mumbai: The city police have rescued 17 bar dancers in a raid on a bar and restaurant at Andheri in north-west Mumbai and arrested five people in this connection.
Acting on a complaint by a social organisation, a team of Social Service department of city police raided Deepa Bar and Restaurant in Andheri on Sunday night and rescued 17 girls, who were hiding in a secret room of bar, police said on Monday.

Police have arrested bar manager, cashier and three other employees of the bar, sources said and added that this bar was illegally running business during the lockdown period.
In Maharashtra, dance bars were banned way back in 2005, but there are certain areas where this business was running illegally with the help of local police. (UNI)
