Al- Badar commander chief Ganai Khawaja neutralized in Sopore

Sopore: The security forces neutralized Terror outfit Al Badr commander chief Ganai Khawaja. The gunfire between security forces and terrorists was exchanged late in the evening. Acting on a concrete tip-off, police and security forces in a joint operation Corden Tujjar Sharif located in Sopore. Terrorists smelled the rat and made the first move of firing gunshots.

Official sources said that following specific information about presence of militants, a joint CASO was launched by Army, police and CRPF at Tujjar area in Sopore on Tuesday evening.
However, they said when security forces were cordoning off a particular area, a militant hiding there, fired at them with an automatic weapon. “The security forces retaliated, ensuing in an encounter,” they said.
They said a militant was killed in the exchange of fire. “The deceased was later identified as Al-Badr chief Gani Khawaja,” they said, adding arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.The terrorist was notorious to create terror among the Kashmiri locals.They said the operation was still going on when the reports last came in.
Security forces launch CASO in north Kashmir
Earlier, Security forces on Tuesday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in this north Kashmir district, official sources said.
They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Kreeri Pattan in Baramulla following a tip off about the presence of militants this morning.
All exit points were sealed to foil militant attempt to escape, they said adding house-to-house searches have been launched in the area.
All roads leading to Kreeri have been closed for pedestrian and vehicular movement, they said adding further details are awaited.
